Voice ports for SIP traffic

The following ports should be allowed to and from the Session Border Controller addresses:

  • TCP 1720-1728
  • UDP 5060, 5061
  • TCP 5060, 5061
  • UDP 1024 and greater

Session Border Controllers:

  • ATL: 204.16.53.4
  • JFK: 204.16.57.4
  • LAS: 204.14.39.36
  • ORD: 204.14.39.36

As for other services which could be used for phone configuration and firmware upgrades, those can and will change and are dependent upon the endpoints. We currently use:

  • FTP
  • HTTP
  • HTTPS
  • TFTP

Our preferred method is HTTPS, but as of right now, only the Sipuras and Linksys support it. Of these protocols, the only one which a company is likely to block outbound is TFTP. Even that is not very common for sessions initiated from the local LAN.
